Raj Green Flag

Raj Green is from Rajasthan, which is in the north west of India. It is from the same mines as “Autumn Brown” but found at different depths, which is why you get shades of browns and grey in it. This is a popular stone in England, as it resembles “York stone” which is mined here. Raj Green is called “Indian York” by some importers.

Autumn Brown

Autumn Brown is mined in Rajasthan like “Raj Green” but is a bit more consistent in colour. Like the other sandstones it is porous and can be sealed after it is laid. Sealing sandstone brings out the colour and slows down the weathering of the stone.

Buff Brown

From the Rajasthan mines Buff Brown sandstone is lighter in colour than Autumn Brown, probably best described as in-between Autumn Brown and Raj Green.
